By accessing and using the Rent Chic website at www.rechic.us, you accept and consent to the practices described in these Terms of Use. Rent Chic reserves the right to change these terms and conditions from time to time at its sole discretion.
DEFINITIONS
In these Terms of Use, “you” and “your” refer to all customers/borrowers of this Website. “Rent Chic,” “Rentier,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Rent Chic. References to customers/borrowers also include users of www.rechic.us.
LEGALLY BINDING CONTRACT
These Terms of Use constitute a legally binding contract between you and Rent Chic. They apply whether you are browsing the Website or renting products. The Terms of Use in effect at any time are published on the Website and are deemed accepted by you through access or use of the Website.
If Rent Chic publishes revised Terms of Use, those revised terms will supersede all previous versions. Continued access or use of the Website constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. Certain offerings, incentives, areas, or sections of the Website may be subject to additional guidelines, which you must comply with in addition to these Terms.
This agreement contains all terms and conditions related to your rental of products from Rent Chic through www.rechic.us. By renting from Rent Chic, you agree to comply with all Website Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy, which may change from time to time.
You acknowledge that all rented products remain the property of Rent Chic at all times. Products may be rented for individuals under 18 years of age; however, Rent Chic rents only to adults who may rent on behalf of a minor. By clicking the “I Accept” button, you represent that you are at least 18 years old and authorized to use the selected payment method for the rental.
DOCUMENTING THE CONDITION
Before each rental, Rent Chic will take clear, detailed photos documenting the item’s condition prior to shipment. These photos establish the item’s base condition and will be used for comparison upon return in the event of damage.
For in-store rentals, item condition will be inspected and confirmed with the Borrower at the time of rental.
ARBITRATION AGREEMENT
Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of Rent Chic’s services shall be resolved through binding arbitration rather than in court. The Federal Arbitration Act and federal arbitration law apply. Arbitration shall be conducted in the State of Ohio.
BORROW PERIOD
The minimum Borrow period is 3 days and the maximum is 7 days. Day one begins on the selected Start Date, and items must be returned by the End Date chosen at checkout.
If an item arrives before the Start Date, no additional charges will apply. Early returns are permitted; however, no refunds will be issued.
EXTENDING THE BORROW PERIOD
Borrowers may request an extension (3–7 additional days) by contacting Rent Chic or booking online. If approved, the Borrower’s payment method will be charged accordingly.
CANCELLATIONS
Borrowers may cancel up to 7 days before the Borrow Start Date for a refund. Cancellations within 7 days of the Start Date or after shipment are non-refundable. All changes or cancellations must be requested via email.
Rent Chic reserves the right to cancel any rental order at any time prior to shipment, in which case the Borrower will receive a full refund.
All SALE purchases are non-refundable.
DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
All items are provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Rent Chic disclaims all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Borrowers are responsible for inspecting items upon receipt.
GOVERNING LAW
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict of law principles. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts located in Ohio.
ITEMS
All items listed on Rent Chic’s Website belong to Rent Chic or Consignors. Items are professionally cleaned before shipment. Normal wear and tear is expected with rentals. Borrowers are responsible for contacting Rent Chic with any questions prior to renting.
RETURN CLEANING
Items must be returned unwashed to avoid accidental damage. Additional cleaning costs for issues such as deodorant or makeup stains are considered minor damages and will be reported within 3 days of return.
INDEMNIFICATION
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Rent Chic, its owners, employees, and agents from all claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of rented items or violation of these Terms.
LATE FEES
A rental is considered late at 11:59 PM one day after the Borrow End Date. Late fees will be charged for each additional day. After 7 days, the item will be deemed stolen and charged at full retail value.
Late fees are calculated as:
(Total Borrow Price ÷ Borrow Period) × 1.5 × number of late days
Borrowers must notify Rent Chic immediately if shipment will be delayed.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rent Chic shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the rental.
MANAGEMENT SERVICE
Rent Chic provides management services including communication, listing, booking, packing, shipping, cleaning, and repairs.
MINOR DAMAGES
Minor damages include stains, rips, snags, missing embellishments, broken zippers, and similar issues. Normal wear and tear is excluded. Repair costs are determined by Rent Chic and its tailoring partners and are final.
MAJOR DAMAGES & LOSSES
Major damages include but are not limited to burns, permanent stains, paint,missing components, deformation, animal waste, or loss. Borrowers are responsible for 90% of the item’s retail value, effectively purchasing the item.
NOTIFICATIONS
Order updates and tracking information will be sent via email or SMS using the contact information provided at checkout.
PAYMENT
By placing an order, you authorize Rent Chic’s payment processor to store and charge your payment method. Rent Chic may charge up to 90% of the item’s retail value if contractual obligations are not met. Invoices must be paid within 7 days.
PRICING
The Total Borrow Price includes the rental fee (based on duration) and selected shipping costs.
RETURNS
Prepaid return labels are included with shipped items. Lost labels or improper returns are the Borrower’s responsibility. Items must be dropped off at USPS, UPS, or FedEx with a timestamped receipt. Items returned without tracking documentation will be charged at full retail value.
Only items with a Rent Chic barcode label are accepted. Items without labels will be considered lost and charged at 100% retail value.
SHIPPING
Orders placed late night or early morning may ship the same day; afternoon orders ship the next business day. High-value items may require signature confirmation. Late delivery without Borrower consent qualifies for a full refund if returned within 12 hours of receipt.
SELECTING DATES
Borrowers are advised to select a Start Date 4–5 days before the needed date. Delivery times are not guaranteed. Expedited shipping is available at the Borrower’s expense.
SIZE & FIT
Rent Chic does not offer refunds for size or fit issues. Borrowers are responsible for reviewing descriptions and measurements prior to renting.
